I am contacting you with a view of seeking your help to educate Carolyne Nafula, a vulnerable girl in Mombasa, Kenya, who has been under our support at the Mission For Orphaned Children (The Mission), an orphanage founded and run by Aid Kenya Foundation, a humanitarian aid and development assistance charity in Kenya.

Nafula wishes to be a doctor once she grows up and she is the first girl from her village to join secondary school as most girls drop out due to poverty, and negative influence of the society like truancy, prostitution and teenage motherhood. Nafula scored 346/500 marks from the Shimo-La-Tewa Primary School, Mombasa, emerging as the top girl in the school against all odds!!

Pwani Girl-child Education Fund: Carolyne Nafula's education needs for 2014 will be as follows:

To all my FB family and wonderful friends. I appeal to you hearts and souls in behalf of the children in Kenya. These children have no means to feed, cloth, give fresh drinking water, or roofs over their heads. In our country, we have food banks and other means of helping our children through our government. There are so many in this country who abuse this blessing to our country! The people in Kenya have NO help in any manner other than through the help and love from others.

 Please read this post from Armstrong O'Brian Ongera Jr.! - The Mission: http://www.FB.com/TheMissionKenya - I am pleading with him on the behalf of the children in Kenya. Christmas is coming, can we not make it a Horn Of Plenty for those who appreciate the simplest of things such as food in their mouths instead of toys.

I have very little to give but even a dollar over there goes so much further than in US. We are a spoiled nation. Please check your hearts and send whatever you can, even if it is one $10...just think, if each of us send just that how many children would be fed by Christmas. I take no credit for sending what little I send and seldom I can send it. I am a widow living on very limited funds but I will send even the smallest amount that would only buy a cup of Star Bucks coffee over here, but over there......that $5 will feed many. Please do what you can and Pay it Forward.....for the sake of the children. 

We have places who donate food without help of Government...and even our Government helps us. Kenya's Government does NOTHING to help. God Bless your Day

On behalf of the Aid Kenya Foundation's Board of Truestees, Executive Management, and the children at The Mission, I would like to invite friends, volunteers,a nd well-wishers at home and abroad who would join The Mission as Goodwill Ambassadors/Friends of The Mission.

Goodwill Ambassadors will help promote, support and donate towards the betterment of the welfare of the 154 children at The Mission. Goodwill Ambassadors will enlist as Friends of The Mission by a subscription fee of USD. 30 per month that will go into The Mission Kitty to secure food, clothes, shoes, books, water, multivitamins, and other essentials for the children. Out of the fee, USD. 10 will go into the Maji Ni Maisha Project to help sink a water borehole for the children and the Milalani community, Malindi, Kenya.

We welcome ideas and suggestions from potential Goodwill Ambassadors to help change lives, impact humanity of the children.

The Mission

Therefore, we invite you to consider volunteering with up in raising funds and awareness towards the orphans and teenage mothers in Kenya under the Aid Kenya Foundation's two orphanages(Homes): MISSION OF HOPE CHILDREN'S CENTER; and the HAKUNA MATATA CHILDREN'S HOME. You will join a "Dream Team of Hope" of Goodwill Ambassadors, Collaborative Partners, and Volunteers working under the Foundation's DONATE CHANGE FOR HUMANITY CAMPAIGN COMMITTEE (DCHCC), which is coordinating voluntary donations from willing individuals.

The idea is to mobilize the CHANGE in cash form which individuals have at home or receive after shopping or making purchases at the Gas Station, Mall, Cinema, Grocery Store, Super Market, Hotel, Train, Aeroplane, and Public Transportation. The main aim is to collect at least 1 Dollar/Euro/Pound/Shilling per person per day. It is symbolic in nature that it takes the action of one everyday person or simple steps to trigger or bring hope, a sense of belonging and lasting change in the society.

We aim to raise USD. 3, 187, 500 over the next 18 months to build the tow modern excellence centers for the children-a complex that will have a School, Hospital, Home/Shelter, Sporting & Talent Development Center, and Water Borehole/Water Purification Plant that will also supply over 5000 households reaching a population of 40,000 people in the two respective communities where they have been commissioned-Kajiado County, in the heartland of the marginalized Maasai community/tribe, and the Milalani Village, Malindi, North Coast of Kenya, inhabited mostly with Mijikenda people, who are among the most poorest people in Kenya.

The change will also provide Education For Orphans Scholarships to over 3000 orphans over the next 5 years, as well as support the hundreds of the Maasai Women Groups affiliated with Aid Kenya Foundation to promote their fair-trade hand-made products under the Maasai Beadwork Project, which will directly and positively impact their livelihoods and the wider villages hence bringing hope and a sense of belonging.

Together, let's demonstrate the power of 1, our interdependence, and the borderless nature of life.

HUMANITARIAN APPEAL: MAJI NI MAISHA PROJECT

APPEAL: MAJI NI MAISHA PROJECT

For the next 100 days, we are seeking to reach out to 1000 well-wishers who will donate $50 or more to enable us sink a WATER BOREHOLE/WELL with a purification system for the orphaned children at The Mission, in Milalani Village Malindi, Kenya.

The borehole will serve the orphans as well as 3000 households across the village; increase food security to the children through a greenhouse project; and increase hygiene among the children by eliminating JIGGERS.

Milalani is one of the remotest and poorest regions along the Kenyan Coast, where education standards are the lowest by any measure. The only source of water is the salty and untreated water from the Indian Ocean sold by water vendors at $40 cents for a 20 litre jerrycan.
